PentaLatin:Privacy policy
This is a working privacy notice for PentaLatin, not a substitute for formal legal advice. It explains what information this wiki collects and why, in plain terms — describing what the site actually does today rather than a generic template.
Account information
Creating an account collects a username and a password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text). An email address is optional at registration; if provided, it's used only for account-related notices such as password resets, and is not shown publicly unless you choose to display it on your own user page.
What's collected automatically
- IP addresses are logged for anti-abuse purposes — for example in edit histories, Special:RecentChanges, and the anti-spam/abuse-filter system. This is standard practice for any publicly editable wiki, used to prevent spam and vandalism, not for tracking or advertising.
- Cookies keep you logged in and remember display preferences (e.g. light/dark appearance, text size). No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Public contributions
Like any wiki, edits and uploads are publicly attributed to your username (or IP address, for unregistered edits where allowed) and visible in each page's history. This is how wiki attribution and moderation work, not a privacy issue specific to this site.
Third parties
Outgoing account emails (such as password resets) are sent through Brevo, a transactional email provider. No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are currently used on this site.

A practical note
This notice describes what the site actually does today. If PentaLatin's audience, data collection, or use of third-party services changes — or if formal compliance with a specific jurisdiction's privacy law becomes relevant — this should be reviewed by someone with the relevant legal expertise, the same caveat as PentaLatin:Licensing policy.
