What is PentaLatin?

PentaLatin is a catalog of Latin American music — composers, works, and scores — in the spirit of IMSLP, but built around boleros, rancheras, tangos, and the wider popular and folk traditions of Latin America rather than IMSLP's classical/public-domain focus.

The catalog is organized around three browsing axes — composers, genres, and countries — reflecting how Latin American repertoire is actually explored, rather than a single genre-or-composer hierarchy.

Who this is for

Anyone researching, teaching, performing, or simply curious about Latin American musical traditions.

Contributing

Registered users can edit most pages. Uploading scores or recordings requires the contributor role — see PentaLatin:Uploading files. See PentaLatin:Naming conventions for how pages are organized and named, and PentaLatin:Licensing policy for what can and can't be uploaded.

Status

PentaLatin is an early, in-progress catalog — content is added incrementally over time, not from a single bulk import.
